Not sure where to begin? You're in the right place.
Before the programme, before the newsletter, before anything else — this is step one. It takes 20 minutes and it will change how you open your Bible.

The Bible Literacy Starter Kit: what it is and what it isn't.
Most Bible resources give you more content to consume, another reading plan, another devotional, another set of notes.
The Starter Kit is different. It gives you a method. Specifically, the S3 Framework: a structured approach to reading any passage of Scripture with clarity and context.
This is not a devotional. It is a training resource. You will read it, work through it, and practise it, and when you close it, you will approach Scripture differently than you did before you opened it.
It is a structured training resource
A method for reading Scripture.
A worked example. A practice sheet.
A clear next step.
It is not a devotional or Bible plan
It won't give you five days of reflections or a reading schedule. It will give you a framework that works on any passage, any time.
It is not for those looking for inspiration
If you want encouragement or motivation, this isn't your resource. If you want to actually understand what you're reading — it is.
You've been in church. You read the Bible, but something still isn't clicking. This is where structure begins.
It's for believers ready to understand
Inside the Starter Kit: the S3 Framework
The S3 Framework is the core tool introduced in the Starter Kit. Three questions you ask of every passage before you reach for a personal application. Here's a preview.
S1
Every passage sits inside a larger narrative.
Before asking what a verse means for you, ask where it sits in the grand narrative of Scripture.
Story - Where does this sit?
"Structure doesn't restrict Scripture, it protects its meaning. And meaning builds confidence."
S2
S3
Setting - Who wrote this, and to whom?
No passage was written into a vacuum. Understanding who wrote it, who received it, and what was happening at the time protects you from reading your own situation into the text. Context protects meaning.
Style - What kind of writing is this?
The Bible contains narrative, poetry, law, prophecy, and letters. Each communicates truth differently. Reading poetry as history, or a letter as a direct command, creates misunderstanding. Genre shapes interpretation.

What comes after the Starter Kit
When you're ready for systematic training, the 12-week Biblical Literacy Programme teaches the full Contextual Method — cohort-based, practice-led, with real feedback. Applications for the founding cohort open soon.
Every week, 3710 Collective publishes a short teaching that takes one passage of Scripture and walks through it using the S3 Framework. Its how the method becomes a habit. You'll start receiving it automatically after downloading the Starter Kit.
